Harold and Yolande met in 1996 while working at Winn Dixie. They dated for a year before Yolande moved to Orlando for school. In 2008, Yolande moved back to Miami. The couple spotted each other on South Beach one evening and it was like they had never been apart. There was an immediate re connection. Harold proposed to Yolande 2 days before her birthday on June 4, 2011. After eating dinner at Prime Italina, they went for a drive around south beach. Harold parked at the W and suggested they walk over by the bridge. When they stopped at the bridge, they both stated how beautiful the night was while looking out at the ocean. Harold then turned and said I wanted this night to be perfect. He got down on one knee and asked Yolande to marry him.
Their story really encompasses the saying “if you love something let it go and if it returns then its meant to be”. Harold and Yolande have always known that their love for each other was a special kind of love that no distance, new relationships or time could dwindle. 18 years later many of their friends would say they knew this day was coming…just didn’t know when. The chemistry between the couple radiates making love seem effortless.
