Sofitel – Miami Luxury Hotel Wedding; Shannon

Devin and Daphne met at Florida State University in Fall 2009 at a potluck for prospective members of Progressive Black Men Inc. and SISTUHS respectively. While it was not love at first sight there was definitely a mutual interest between the two that quickly developed over time. Eventually Devin and Daphne were inseparable. Wherever you saw one you saw the other…LITERALLY.
In Tallahassee, they went to every event together and even worked together at Chili’s where Daphne got Devin his job. Devin returned the favor in South Florida by getting Daphne a job at Hertz where he worked while they both attended graduate school. This couple has been the epitome of what it means to truly support one another. Eventually both Daphne and Devin graduated from their respective graduate programs at Florida International University and once they started their careers they decided it was time for them to move on to the next step: marriage. Like everything else in their relationship Devin and Daphne made a mutual decision to get married; negating the need for a proposal. Within a few weeks of their decision they chose and purchased their rings  together.
Four and a half years later their love has grown and continues to grow for one another. Not only are they partners, but they are best friends and soul mates. These two cannot picture life and all the experiences it will bring without one another. They are both ready to embark on this journey and are ready to tackle whatever lies ahead. They have always supported one another and believe that their love, trust and faith in one another will take them to whatever God has in store for them. This love has no boundaries!

Favorite Wedding Detail: “My favorite wedding detail had to be the the setup of our reception. It was elegant and exceeded our expectations/vision.”
1st Dance Song: “Our 1st dance song was John Legend’s Stay With You.”
Most Emotional Moment: “My most emotional moment was without a doubt the moment when we finally saw each other at the ceremony. That moment made all the stress and planning leading up to the wedding day more than worth it.”

Wedding Experience with AJ: AJ’s professionalism was second to none and his ability ability to interact with our guests and still manage to take GREAT pictures was amazing! He exceeded both of our expectations and we know we made the right decision using him to capture our moment. He was very personable and made sure we got everything we wanted. Unfortunately, we were unable to record our moment but AJ’s pictures were just as good. We would definitely use him again! Thank you AJ!
Advice For Couples: I would tell future wedding couples to stay on top of EVERYTHING. Contracts, payment plans, minor details, etc. You do not want any issues the last couple of weeks leading up to your wedding. Also, pay as you go. Where you may have time to pay things off, knowing that is already taken care of eases the mind and helps you avoid any additional stress.
